The NHERI WOW EF is located at the FIU Engineering Center in Miami, Florida. The EF is conveniently located 8 miles away from Miami International Airport (MIA). Given Miamis vulnerability to hurricanes, the location of the EF for wind research is geographically relevant. The EF is within close proximity to the FIU Main Campus, which houses the National Hurricane Center co-located with the National Weather Service Forecast Office. The EF is only 3 miles away from the Miami-Dade County Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) Department that regulates code enforcements in the Florida Building Code High Velocity Hurricane Zone and works closely with the EF team to enhance building codes, practices, and products.
